Bradford on Avon Recorded Music Society presents its tenth season of concerts of recorded music at the Wiltshire Music Centre, Ashley Road, Bradford an Avon. The aim of the Society is to resent on excellent sound equipment a broad range of classical music on compact disc, selected from the whole of the recording era, circa 1900 to the present day. Programmes include a wide variety of -orchestral chamber, instrumental and vocal music, chosen and presented by members and by visiting specialists, giving background about the music or performers. Whilst some programmes may not at first sight appeal to all members, regular attendance can offer a unique introduction to music or types of musk they may not have considered or had the opportunity to hear previously. Presentations sometimes include recordings of singers from the very early days of the recording' era, not readily available elsewhere, and whose standard of performance and clarity of reproduction can be quite astonishing. 'We have a short informal-refreshment interval when members can chat or discuss the music or other matters of interest with each other or the presenter Prospective new members are very welcome at airy of our meetings Whether you come with a friend or alone, you will find the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. |
