Dudley Recorded Music Society was founded in 1945
Programmes of mainly classical Music are presented by members and
occasionally by guests from other Societies and local Arts groups

We meet on alternate Thursday evenings at 7.30 p.m. at:

Laurel Road
Dudley, West Midlands.

To cover the cost of room rental a charge is made for each meeting

The charge for Temporary Membership per meeting is £2.00 and £1.50 for Members
Member subscription fee is £8.00 per annum

A nominal charge of 20p is made for refreshments in the interval


Programmes from September to December 2006

4 September

With the centenary of the birth of Shostakovich falling on the 25th September,
Steve Taylor
is including String Quartet Number 8 in his programme.

28 September

"Appreciation"
John Davies
from Nantwich makes a return visit and asks
"Why do we listen to music?".

12 October

Arthur Mould continues the Mahler Symphony series with Number 8
written from enormously large forces.

26 October

Neil Robinson
returns after the summer and will include the works by two neglected 19th century composers,
the violin concerto in F by Edouard Lalo and a Piano Concerto by John Field.

9 November

John Philpott presents a German programme comprising Bach's Concerto fro two violins;
Till Eulenspiegel and Ein Heldenleben by Richard Strauss.

23 November

Bill Power presents a programme including the Piano Concerto
and Symphony Number 2 by Schumann.

7 December

Christmas Programme
