Great Yarmouth Recorded Music Circle

Celebrating its 70th anniversary this season the Great Yarmouth Recorded Music Circle had its inaugural meeting on the 18th November 1946. The meeting was opened by Mr K Cutler who outlined the aim of the proposed Circle. Mr F Hawkins was elected Chairman and requested the Circle be formed. The name Great Yarmouth Recorded Music Circle was proposed by Mr P Newstead and adopted. Mr R Packard was Hon.Secretary and Mr E Goate was Hon. Treasurer. The Committee were Miss D Pearce, Mr K Cutler, Mr J Bonny & Mr R Edwards. Subscriptions were 3/6.

The Circle is still going with a small but enthusiastic membership. We will be celbrating the anniversary on the 14th November by playing the same pieces of music as played all those years ago when the Circle was formed;

Trumpet voluntary, Air on a G String, Bless this House & Once in a Blue Moon - Vovalist John McCormick, Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Humoreske & the Entr'acte (Rosamunde) finishing with Schubert's Symphony No 8.
