- that of parent and child is present in many operas; sometimes
incidentally, occasionally as an interwoven sub-plot and often, at the
very core of the opera, profoundly influencing the characters, driving
their actions and directing the plot. Audrey Peters takes a closer
look at these operas and presents some of the music that
this relationship has inspired.

23 March
Julian Williamson's presentation will be 'Why was
"Lohengrin" Wagner's last opera?'

This is a look at Wagner's early works and career up to
the time when he deliberately made huge changes to his style.

'A Musical Pot-pourri'.
