The Premier Music Society for the county's capital city!

York RMS was founded in 1955 and is one of over 200 British societies that are affiliated to the Federation of Recorded Music Societies.

We meet fortnightly on Thursdays and listen to a wide range of classical music on CDs using the Society’s equipment and, if required, we have an LP turntable.

Presentations are given both by members and by visiting speakers.

Annual subscriptions cover twenty meetings in the year, which runs from September to June, and visitors are welcome to attend any of them.

We exchange visits with Scarborough Society, arrange outings and hold an annual dinner.

We meet in
The Central Methodist Church Hall,
at St. Saviourgate
